Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

A quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
We’ll be spending our first Christmas as LIPs in indulgent, extravagant fashion (what else in Dubai?!?) at a buffet with unlimited fine-label champagne and apparently the most fantastic seafood buffet you could imagine (amongst other “food stations”) at the Ritz Carlton on the beach.
Business will resume as normal here on the blog later this week, once we’ve rolled ourselves home
How will you be spending yours?
P.S. As a Christmas gift the first 5 anyone who shares their plans by commenting on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day will receive a free copy of the ebook, X Marks The Spot. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!!

Will be spending Christmas in the Philippines with family and friends. Lots of kids (equals lots of presents
), Philippine and Italian dishes, good wine, carols, what more can one ask for. Merry Christmas and keep up the great work!!!
Happy holidays!
I’ll continue working and go to some of my relatives houses for some li’l reunion parties.
I would LOVE nothing more than to be partaking in celebrations a million miles away like yourselves, but we will be all about the family - visiting mine, visiting The Man’s family along the coast - eating lots of Chritsmas yum and watching bad TV! Merry Christmas LIP - you rock!
Well, today we’ll be beating a log wrapped in a blanket with a stick while singing a song demanding that it craps presents! (A good Catalan tradition - check out my blog for more interesting traditions). Then it’ll be a “normal” Christmas, followed by Sant Esteban (Boxing Day) over the border in Catalunya with the holiday dish of canelones.
But it’s not over then - following a brief pause, we”ll avoid the red knicker wearing and fire-making of New Years Eve and then it’s the countdown to the really big day - January 6th, Los Reyes Magos, the Three Kings. Until fairly recently the gift giving only took place on this day but now lucky kids get stuff both days. The downside for them is that school begins (thank God) on January 7th.
I forgot to mention that the festivities begin on December 6th…
Spain is different.
As a fellow LIP - based on a 36 foot sailboat, currently cruising south central Alaska, skis and dog included - we will be having ham and scalloped potatos, fun and games. General merriment with some friends here in the harbor who also live aboard.
Having feasted and laughed, we will then head into the night and for some head lamp — read SUPER BRIGHT — assisted Powder Skiing. No I am not making this up!
Happy Trails to You!
The run up to Christmas has been great as I’ve successfully launched a new business called Wellness Junction so I’ll be excited this Christmas after a phenomenal year. Also working on a big LIP year plan starting March next year - I can’t wait. I’ve always travelled here and there and come back to the UK. Now its time to hop from one place to the other. First stop Costa Rica.
Christmas as usual with the family and close friends eating scrumptious meals and playing board games. What better way to spending quality time with family with lots of freshly squeezed juice and raw salads.
Christmas festivities for us started last week and will extend all the way to the first I hope
See you soon,
Kavit
Bloody hell!!!
Thought I would get a comment in quickly just so that I can get a freebie and all of a sudden loads of others come crawling out of the woodwork.
Oh well……
In sunny Florida, dinner by the pool (Maybe in it.). New friends and neighbours in and out for the next three days as we are trying to educate America on the necessity of Boxing Day.
But where will we be next year………?
I’ll be huddling up in the cold probably buried in snow and planning my escape to the warmth next year!
Thanks for the great blog…look forward to more inspiration in 2008!
Aaaw Mike, as I’m in the Christmas spirit (very hard to get into here in Dubai), I’ll give a freebie to anyone who comments on this post on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so you’re in luck!!
Merry Christmas everyone
I’ll be spending Christmas on the Harley cruising around Florida. 75 degrees and sunshine doesn’t feel like Christmas to everyone, but it’s better than trying to ride a motorcycle in a 20 degree blizzard!
Enjoy Dubai–I can’t wait to go someday!
At our California house we will have a whole family dinner on Christmas Eve. Christmas will be the traditional present openings. One of my daughters has her birthday on Dec 25th. This year she will be 18 and wants to go to the nearby Tribal Casino so we will pack up a caravan of cars and mini vans and head up the hill in the early evening for an evening of slots and dinner (wish us luck)
Hello Christmas Lovelies, me the girl with ‘mattress on arse syndrome’ as my father used to call me was up bright and early, blame my 17 year old cat for his yowling Happy Christmas (read: feed me mamma!). The weather here is beautiful, not too hot and clear. Had cuddles and kisses with my darling, then made all the calls to family and friends, feeling up and mighty, ate some chrissy choccies, listened to my Field Training CD which was smashingly good, now making the salads and dressings for all the seafood we’re gonna scoff down here. Champagne is ready, pudding is ready, we’re ready, we’re off. Yes we here in downunder land have Xmas before all you northern hemispherers!
Much love to everyone, love this blog!

Well, as Christmas isn’t even a holiday in this part of the world (Japan) I’ll be sitting here watching computer screens both today (25th) and tomorrow. Fear not, however, as a plan has been hatched to escape this rat race early in the New Year and I too will be an ‘LIP’ earning a living from my trusty old laptop (or maybe a trusty new MacBook). Time for one more bonus and then I’ll be on the beach! Dubai wouldn’t be bad at some point…
What a nice group of comments! I envy everyone and then again I don’t, because location-independently I’m going to be spending the holiday with my Little Buddy on his second Christmas and showing him pictures of places his mama and papa have been and places where he will go in the future once we get everything up and running for our location-independent business
Merry Christmas all, and since my wife grew up in the Soviet Union where New Year’s was the big holiday, s novim godim!! In any language, happy holidays!
Sharing gifts and great food with family and friends.
Happy Holidays people!
Merry Christmas!! Im glad to hear that you will be having such a luxurious day, dining on the beach and drinking champagne, think of me as il be at work!! if only hospitals would close at christmas haha. Have a great day xx
I’ll be eating drinking and being merry with my family in front of a roaring fire…
Merry Christmas!
I’m jealous of Christmas on the beach… I’m in snowy NY with family & friends!
We spent our Christmas day playing “Settlers of Catan” (a board game) and pigging out like you wouldn’t believe (portabella mushroom lasagna with a basil creme sauce for the main course).
Merry Christmas!!!
I embark upon the launch of a lip lifestyle on 1st January… So this Christmas is extending all the way to 31st January.. When we’re not having celebratory drinks for Christmas it’ll be fairwell drinks or packing and getting the last bits and bobs done!!!
Bummer - I just missed it!
Funny, though… we had our neighbor/friends over for Christmas dinner, and we all talked about our plans and hopes to live a more location-independent lifestyle! It’s definitely in my mind and my plans to get a lot more mobile in the near future.
Hope you had a great holiday.
I’ll let you in Adam!
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments and for sharing how you’ve spent the festive season…
For everyone who’s posted before this comment, I’ll be sending you the ebook tomorrow so check your emails!
Blargh!
1 day late
Oh well, happy holidays anyhow!
