There’s Gonna Be Some Changes Round Here…
In preparation for the New Year, I have been doing a little plotting and scheming about how we can make the Location Independent Living blog even better in 2008.
I am thrilled by how much it’s developed over the past few months and what a fantastic community we have around here - it’s all due to you, the readers, so I just want to say a big “Thanks” and please do stick around and help us grow our ranks even more!
So here are the planned changes…
#1 It’s all in the name…
“Location Independent” isn’t the most inspiring name for the blog and “LIP” whilst short and snappy (and perfect to describe ourselves and others) isn’t the most descriptive term either for those who aren’t in the know.
So I’ve added a small word to the end of “Location Independent” which I think makes all the difference…it’s the word “living”. I’m hoping that instead of referring to the blog as the “Location Independent” blog, it’ll now be referred to as the “Location Independent Living” blog. No biggie if not, but that’s the preference.
Of course, I’ll still be referring to those who do what we do, as “LIPs” so please do continue to wear the LIP badge of honour proudly!!
#2 The T-shirts might be disappearing…
If you’ve never noticed that we have a t-shirt shop complete with custom-designed t-shirts (designed by the husband), then check it out via the button on the right. This has been a little experiment we’ve been trialling and although sales have been limited (not unexpected given this is the first time I’ve really mentioned them!), we’re putting the results to good use to plot for a new project in 2008.
However, the custom designs especially for the LIP concept may well disappear so if you want to get your hands on one, then check them out soon (they’re not your usual boring designs but really rather funky!).
#3 There’s the new posting schedule…
There’s been a very loose schedule for the post topics up to now, but it’s time to set a more specific one so that you all know what’s coming up and can look forward with bated breath to your favourite post of the week 
Check out the schedule in the sidebar on the right for details…the new schedule will be starting as of next Monday (31st December).
To clarify a couple of points…Tuesday posts will link to resources, articles, tools or software that we’ve found in our travels round the ‘net. If you ever have anything to suggest that you think others will find useful, then do let me know and I’ll include it in our links roundup.
Thursday posts are all about handing the blog over to you…we’ll either be featuring an interview with a fellow LIP/wannabe LIP or we’ll be asking you for your thoughts, experiences and opinions about a certain topic and then featuring the best ones the following week.
