Exotic, raw, exciting, dangerous and poetic. All these words encapsulate Brazil in a nutshell.
The stereotypical view of this country is a heady mix of trendy beaches, swaying samba hips, football heroes, heart-breaking poverty and crime. One minute you’re in awe of its natural beauty, the other you’re fighting back the tears [...]

The stereotypical view of this country is a heady mix of trendy beaches, swaying samba hips, football heroes, heart-breaking poverty and crime. One minute you’re in awe of its natural beauty, the other you’re fighting back the tears as you see street kids sleeping in cardboard boxes.
But is it an ideal country for the Location Independent Professional looking for a cheaper, more relaxed lifestyle with good weather and friendly locals? Read the rest of this entry

Here’s a confession for you!
I’ve been slacking off going to the gym recently. Ok, it’s not much of a confession really. Everyone slacks off now and again don’t they? Even Wellbeing coaches

I do enjoy my routine once I get started but it takes 50 minutes to complete and I can’t be bothered with the travelling to and from the gym.
So I thought, as we’re so busy preparing for next year, it’s a good idea to slim down my exercise routine down to 5 “big bang” exercises that I can do in our apartment. In fact, I could do these exercises pretty much anywhere.
So what do I mean by big bang? Read the rest of this entry

LIP Plans: Are we allowed to change our minds?
A month or so ago Claudia and I had pretty much determined how our LIP year abroad in 2008 would look like. A month or so ago Claudia and I had pretty much determined how our LIP year abroad in 2008 would look like. It’s a mishmash of places we know and love (Zurich and Rio) and places we have always dreamt of visiting and exploring (New Zealand, Australia and the Caribbean). We’re pretty excited about it and we’ve been furiously planning and researching for flights, accommodation, internet connection and car rental ever since! Here’s how it looks:
Feb - March: New Zealand and Australia
April - August: Switzerland
September: Caribbean
October - Dec: Brazil
But what happens if, come January, we don’t want to spend two months in New Zealand or five months in Switzerland for whatever reason? Perhaps we won’t have as much money as we thought we would have. Perhaps we would feel too isolated too early on in New Zealand. Perhaps Switzerland and Brazil are both too familiar and we want to explore more of the unknown.
Are we allowed to change?
