The Return Back Home: What To Expect
I’m writing I wrote this in the UK on our 3rd return ‘home’ since we began our location independent lifestyle.
Each and every time we return, we experience similar things which leave us feeling a range of emotions from frustration and relief to disappointment and joy.
I’m pretty sure we’re not the only ones who feel like this, so this post is for anyone who has just returned or is about to return ‘home’ from being on the road and to let you know that, yes, we know how you feel…

In Transit
I had a post all lined up today which was going to announce that we’ll be taking a break from this blog for a while whilst we have a pretty busy few weeks with travel and business.
However, I changed my mind and decided that I don’t really want to take a break but we just wouldn’t be posting this week as we don’t have a draft that’s in a decent enough state to be read by you guys & gals!
As I type this, I’m sitting in the Emirates lounge in HK airport waiting for our flight to Dubai, where we’re staying overnight before flying to the UK for a week (with a quick trip down to Devon then back ‘home’ to Nottingham) before flying back to Dubai for 3 days and then finally to South Africa for 6 months.
It’s late (10.30pm) and our flight doesn’t leave for another 2 hours so we will be tired, grumpy and no doubt jet-lagged this week.
Therefore, please excuse the lack of posts this week for the next couple of weeks - but it is only temporary for now!
The Impracticalities Of Working From Anywhere
I bet that isn’t a title you expected to read on a blog where we mostly talk about how *possible* it is to work from anywhere, is it?
When it comes to the “live anywhere, work anywhere” lifestyle of a modern nomad, the usual images of tanned entrepreneurs tapping away at their laptops on the beach under a palm tree spring to mind.
The reality however is quite different.
Have you ever really tried working from a beach with your laptop? - where it’s so damn hot that the rivers of sweat pouring down your face make it impossible to see your screen, if that is, the sun weren’t causing such a glare that it’s practically invisible anyway.
You Know You’re in South East Asia When…
Yesterday we went out and about around Phuket to take some snaps of our home for the past month. We’ll be sad to leave here next week - but happy to return early next year. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the photos…
