An Important Distinction…

Before you join, it’s important to be clear on the line between Strategy and Implementation…we are not here to do all your thinking for you!

While we will aim to make suggestions if we feel we can add something valuable, we will require your specific and clearly communicated direction for each task. Here’s a quick example for clarity:

OK: Please can you create a comparison chart of the features of these 3 accounting tools so I can decide which is best for my business.

NOT OK: Please can you check out this tool and tell me whether you think it’s right for my business.

See the difference? If you’re ever unsure, simply submit a task and we’ll let you know if it’s beyond our implementation remit or ask for more directive instructions from you.

Who’ll be doing my tasks? Will you personally do them for me?

We are currently a team of 4 – lead and managed by Lea Woodward. You’ll usually work with the same person for the majority of your tasks, but other team members will always be available to step into the breach if needed.

Lea hand-selects each member of the team so she can trust that they will do the job to the same standard and level that she’d do it, being the (recovering!) control freak & perfectionist that she is ;)

How do I/you track my hours?

We use an online time-tracking tool and will always round down to the nearest minute. So if a task took us 23 minutes and 59 seconds, we’ll log 23 minutes. At the end of each task, we’ll give you an update of the time you have remaining for future support.

Does any unused time or tasks roll over?

Unused hours can roll over for ONE month only. We’ll always use up any rolled over hours first and then move on to your new month’s hours, so these can also roll over for ONE month if you’ve not used them.

Do you work evening and weekends?

Most of the time, yes! Our team is geographically spread out, and our time/schedules are pretty flexible; so we often work evenings and you’ll also find us working at weekends too. Our turn-around times however do not *officially* include weekends and holidays to make this fair to the team who are often on family time, as you may be too.

Do you support [insert specific tool you use]?

We may do! The above list includes the most commonly used tools by Rescue Desk clients. We do often support others though so please ask and we’ll be able to tell you if we can help or not.

In some instances we may not already support a specific tool/platform/service but we’re more than happy to have a look at it and see if it’s something we think we can figure out easily.

What if you can’t help with something?

In some instances, there are technical issues we may not be able to help with. In this case, we’ll usually aim to point you in the right direction where you can get the help you need – such as the support forum or support team of a specific service.

We can even log a ticket, liaise with live support or post a question on your behalf so we’ll do our very best to help you get a resolution, even if we don’t always have the answers to hand.

Are my passwords secure?

Yes, as secure as the secure platforms we use, at least. We log all your passwords in a secure online ‘vault’ (LastPass), and then distribute your details to the relevant team member as required. Only Lea sees your passwords – unless you share them directly with a team member in your email thread – so other team members can use your details to log in but won’t see your what your passwords actually are.

How do I cancel my Plan?

We have introduced a minimum term of THREE months for all members; this means we don’t need to implement any set-up fees and ensures we can build the kind of positive, win-win relationship we’re aiming for with all clients.

You are free to cancel a monthly plan at any time after your initial 3 months has passed. The fastest way for you to do this is to log in to your Paypal account and cancel your subscription there; or get in touch and we’ll do it for you.
